MOU between UMBY and Wijaya Putra University Surabaya

In order to expand cooperation between universities for the implementation of Education, Research and Community Service activities, Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta (UMBY) collaborated with Wijaya Putra University (UWP) Surabaya. The event was held in the Seminar Room of the Rectorate Building Campus 1 UMBY, Jalan Raya Wates Sedayu Bantul, at 13.00-15.00 WIB. Friday, (29/07/2022).

The event was attended by the Chancellor of UMBY, Dr. Agus Slamet, S.TP., M.P, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs UMBY Ir. Wafit Dinarto, M.Si, Vice Chancellor of Resources UMBY Tutut Dewi Astuti, SE., M.Sc., Ak, CA., CTA. ACPA, Dean of the Faculty of Agroindustry UMBY, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agroindustry UMBY, Dean of the Faculty of Economics UMBY, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics UMBY, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UMBY, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UMBY, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) UMBY, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology ( FTI) UMBY, Head of Center for Research, Community Service and Cooperation (P3MK) UMBY, and Head of UMBY's Domestic Cooperation Division.

Meanwhile, Wijaya Putra University (UWP) Surabaya was attended by the Chancellor of Wijaya Putra University Surabaya, Dr. Budi Endarto, S.H., M.Hum, Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Head of Development Economics Study Program, Head of Public Relations and Cooperation Bureau.

This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta (UMBY) and Wijaya Putra University Surabaya and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with 4 faculties namely the Faculty of Agroindustry UMBY with Faculty of Agriculture UWP, Faculty of Psychology UMBY with Faculty of Psychology UWP, Faculty of Economics UMBY with Faculty of Economics and Business UWP, and Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) UMBY with Faculty of Engineering UWP.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Chancellor of the University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta (UMBY) Dr. Agus Slamet, S.TP., M.P. and the Chancellor of Wijaya Putra University (UWP) Surabaya, Dr. Budi Endarto, S.H., M. Hum

Meanwhile, the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) from each faculty was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Agroindustry, UMBY, Dr. Chatarina Lilis Suryani, S.TP. M.P. with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UWP Ir. Faisol Humaidi, M.P. then, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UMBY Reny Yuniasanti, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D Psychologist with the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UWP Firsty Oktaria Grahani, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist. Followed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, UMBY, Dr. Audita Nuvriasari, S.E., M.M. with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UWP Dr. Woro Utari, S.E., M.M, and Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) UMBY Anief Fauzan Rozi, S.Kom., M.Eng., MCE. with the Dean of the UWP Faculty of Engineering Ong Andre Wahju Rijanto, S.T., M.T.

The scope of the understanding includes Education, Research, Community Service, Scientific Publications, and Implementation of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program.

UMBY Chancellor Dr. Agus Slamet, S.TP., M.P in his speech said that in the MBKM era, this collaboration between universities and between faculties became one of the most important things, because of the performance of universities in the tri dharma consisting of education, research and community service. .

 “Every educational, research and community service activity requires collaboration between universities, both universities and faculties. The hope is that this friendship can continue to be established to educate the nation's young generation," he said

Meanwhile, UWP Chancellor, Dr. Budi Endarto, S.H., M.Hum said that with this collaboration, it is hoped that we can synergize well, through education, research and community service. "Hopefully this collaboration can be extended to relations and partners at UMBY," he said

Dean of the Faculty of Agroindustry, UMBY, Dr. Chatarina Lilis Suryani, S.TP, M.P. conveyed that the existence of this memorandum of understanding could lead to follow-up to PKS in a more specific direction between study programs or faculties.  "Hopefully, the results of this collaboration can be immediately implemented in the form of community service and research which will later be beneficial for two institutions, both UMBY and UWP," he said.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) UMBY, Anief Fauzan Rozi, S.Kom., M.Eng., MCE said that the memorandum of understanding between universities can hopefully be implemented, especially in MBKM.

"I really support this collaboration. For the Faculty of Information Technology itself, we need to see how far the curriculum of the Faculty of Engineering at UWP has come and we need to explore this more deeply," he explained.
