Supriyanto, officers from the Traffic Unit (Lantas) of Sentolo Police, conducted a night patrol in accident-prone areas using a patrol car with its blue rotating light on. The activity, called "Blue Light Patrol" by the Sentolo Police Traffic Unit, aimed to promote traffic safety, prevent accidents, reduce traffic congestion, prevent public disturbances, and provide a sense of security for the community. The patrol was carried out on accident-prone roads within the jurisdiction of the Sentolo Police, Yogyakarta.
The "Blue Light Patrol" was conducted at night because it aimed to anticipate night-time risks, accidents, and recent street crimes that have been occurring outside of the Kulonprogo region. During the patrol, the Sentolo Police Traffic Unit personnel drove along Jl. Yogya-Wates within the Sentolo Police jurisdiction using their official Lantas unit car and turning on the blue rotating light. When they encountered a broken-down vehicle, they would stop the patrol and place traffic cones to prevent accidents.
The traffic flow on the National Road within the Sentolo Police jurisdiction was monitored to be smooth and safe during the patrol. Aipda Lilik Nurhariyadi stated, "Night patrols by the Traffic Unit in accident-prone areas like this are regularly carried out by Sentolo Police officers on duty to anticipate night-time risks, prevent street crimes, reduce accidents, and provide a sense of security for road users," after the successful implementation of the "Blue Light Patrol." The patrol ended without any problems and was considered a safe and successful operation. (Amoenk@SekSentolo)
